What to look for before moving into a new home

Moving into a new home is a stressful experience but also a very exciting one. Hopefully you have decided on a place that is right for you but you also need to have an idea as to what things to look out for when you are finally inside. If you can it’s a good idea to scout out the place when all of the previous owners’ furniture and fittings have been removed (if that is an option). If you’re lucky the property may already be cleared. If this is the case you could start to plan out where everything you own is going to go. Perhaps you’re thinking of buying all new. If that is the case you will need to get in and measure up dimensions of living rooms so that you can check that there are no little surprises that the general measurements might have missed.

One very important point is to check that the drains are working. Surveyors may not check such facts when they are overlooking the property depending on the level of report you have paid for. As a result it might be a good idea to get a company that does Drainage Cleaning Near Me, or better still you. That way you will know that the pipes are good and clear ready for your use.

The other thing to look for is the condition of the windows and the window frames. It’s an easy thing to miss as you view a place to not have a good look at  the condition of the frames. If they are still wood then they may well need a paint or be replaced with PVC.
