Choosing the right accommodation for your time at university is important – being in accommodation that you are not happy with can make your time there miserable. There are lots of places that you can look at to find student accommodation, such as this student accommodation Leicester based company www.westmanorstudentliving.co.uk for example – when looking at accommodation, here are some of things to look for…
Furniture and White Goods- Find out what is included in the property inventory- if you go round and see nice furniture, this might be appealing, but if it comes unfurnished then this means that you are going to need to provide your own furniture.
This also goes for white goods – student properties tend to come with white goods included but do double check this and also make sure that everything is in good working order.
Ask Current Students – A really good way to get an idea of student accommodation in an area that you are not very familiar with is to speak to students who are currently living there. See if you can get in touch with any students currently at the university that you will be attending to see where they recommend being (as well as where they recommend avoiding!)
Think about the Location – When you don’t know the area very well it is important to do your research and consider what areas are best suited to you. Of course you will want to be close to the university but also think about access to public transport and where you will go to do your shopping as well as socialising!
